About Me
I was born and raised in Southern California. We travel back home every year during the summer. I have a wife (Stacy), three boys (Lir, Cormac, and Conn), a dog (Sesame) and two cats (Vinegar and Cholula). My oldest boys attended CLP MS. Right now, all three boys attend Rocky Mountain High School together. I started my educational career in 1993 in California. I have been teaching at CLP since 2002.
Educational and Professional Background:
I Graduated from San Diego State University in 1992 with a major in Biology. I received my teaching certificate from Humboldt State University in 1997. I attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2000-2001 in the math/computer science program. I graduated in 2005 from The University of Northern Colorado with a Master’s degree in special education.
Courses I teach and things I do at CLP MS
I have taught every math subject available during my time here at CLP, from 6th grade math to the Geometry course. I currently teach the High School credited Algebra 1 course. I am the math department head, and I am the assistant football, basketball, and wrestling coach.
My favorite hobbies or activities
My favorite hobby is being a father to my three super boys and hanging out with my lady. We love watching them participate in their various activities. We are a tight family and spend a lot of time traveling, especially to beaches, watching and playing sports, being active and having an overall enjoyable time.
What do I love about CLP MS
I really enjoy the small school atmosphere, where you get to know all of the students really well. I think the family culture a small school builds are valuable to both students and adults. We hold high academic standards at CLP MS for all students and that are reflected in how well students perform here. I like that students have an opportunity to participate in athletics and other extracurricular activities. The small school environment offers more opportunity to participate in each student’s endeavors, providing more chances to play and have meaningful contributions.
