Arts- Music and Theatre

Beginning Band

Welcome to Beginning Band! This course is designed for students with little to no prior experience with band instruments. Throughout the year, students will learn the fundamentals of playing an instrument, reading music, and performing in an ensemble. This class is open to all students who wish to begin their musical journey.

Intermediate Band (7/8)

Welcome to Intermediate Band! This course is designed for students who have a foundational knowledge of band instruments and are ready to further develop their skills. Throughout the year, students will build on their previous experience by refining their technique, expanding their music reading abilities, and enhancing their ensemble performance skills. This class is open to all students who have completed Beginning Band or have equivalent experience and are eager to continue their musical journey.

Beginning Orchestra

Welcome to Beginning Orchestra! This course is designed for students with little to no prior experience with string instruments. Throughout the year, students will learn the fundamentals of playing an instrument, reading music, and performing in an ensemble. This class is open to all students who wish to begin their musical journey.

Intermediate Orchestra (7/8)

Welcome to Intermediate Orchestra! This course is designed for students who have a foundational knowledge of string orchestra instruments and are ready to further develop their skills. Throughout the year, students will build on their previous experience by refining their technique, expanding their music reading abilities, and enhancing their ensemble performance skills. This class is open to all students who have completed Beginning Orchestra or have equivalent experience and are eager to continue their musical journey.

Drama

This class is designed to introduce 7th and 8th-grade students to the foundational aspects of drama and theatre. Students will learn essential acting techniques, theatre vocabulary, and performance skills. The course will culminate in a final performance where students will showcase their growth as actors. Through a combination of individual and group activities, students will develop confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills.

Choir (ELO)

Welcome to Choir! This course is designed for students with little to no prior experience with singing, alone or in a group, but will still be fun and challenging for students with experience.  Throughout the year, students will learn the fundamentals of  singing, reading music, and performing in an ensemble. This class is open to all students who wish to begin their musical journey.
