CLP Middle School Music Class Supply List 2025 to 2026
Essential Items (Required)
Music Binder & Organization
- 1-inch three-ring binder (black preferred)
- Sheet protectors (pack of 20-30)
- Divider tabs (5-tab set)
- Pencils (regular #2 pencils - at least 3)
- Eraser (white or pink eraser)
Basic Supplies
- Composition notebook or staff paper notebook
- Highlighters (yellow and one other color)
- Ruler (12-inch with metric measurements)
Instrument-Specific Items
For Band & Orchestra Students
- Instrument rental or purchase (if not already arranged)
- Instrument cleaning supplies (specific to your instrument)
- Music stand for home practice
- Metronome (digital or app acceptable)
For Choir & Drama Students
- Black folder for sheet music or scripts
- Pencil for marking music
- Water bottle with name clearly written on it
For Modern Band Students
- Acoustic guitars, electric bass & amp, drum set provided
- Instrument of choice and necessary items (pics, straps, sticks, etc.)
Recommended Items (Optional but Helpful)
Technology
- Metronome app on phone/tablet
- Music theory apps (recommendations will be provided in class)
- Earbuds or headphones for listening assignments
Additional Supplies
- Sticky notes for marking important passages
- Extra sheet protectors
- Backup pencils and erasers

When to Purchase
Please have all required items by the end of the second week of school. This allows time to assess your specific needs based on your chosen musical focus (band, orchestra, choir, modern band or drama).

Introduction of Technical Theatre
Discover the magic of theater in Introduction the Technical Theater Production. Students will gain hands on experience in the art of bringing performances to life as they explore: Performance skills, scene study and analysis, set design and construction, prop design and construction, costume and makeup design, and sound and lighting design. Students will participate in a fully staged production as an actor and or part of the technical crew. Through collaborative projects and exposure to industry standard equipment, this class offers a solid foundation for those interested in pursuing careers in the entertainment industry. This class is offered as part of the CTE Middle School Pathway.
Beginning Band
Beginning Band is designed for students with little to no prior experience with band instruments. Throughout the year, students will learn the fundamentals of playing an instrument, reading music, and performing in an ensemble. This class is open to all students who wish to begin their musical journey.
Intermediate Band
7 and 8th Grade
Intermediate Band is designed for students who have a foundational knowledge of band instruments and are ready to further develop their skills. Throughout the year, students will build on their previous experience by refining their technique, expanding their music reading abilities, and enhancing their ensemble performance skills. This class is open to all students who have completed Beginning Band or have equivalent experience and are eager to continue their musical journey.
Beginning Orchestra
Beginning Orchestra is designed for students with little to no prior experience with string instruments. Throughout the year, students will learn the fundamentals of playing an instrument, reading music, and performing in an ensemble. This class is open to all students who wish to begin their musical journey.
Intermediate Orchestra
7 and 8th Grade
Intermediate Orchestra is designed for students who have a foundational knowledge of string orchestra instruments and are ready to further develop their skills. Choir
Extended Learning Opportunity or ELO
Choir is designed for students with little to no prior experience with singing, alone or in a group, but will still be fun and challenging for students with experience. Throughout the year, students will learn the fundamentals of singing, reading music, and performing in an ensemble. This class is open to all students who wish to begin their musical journey.
